What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps is a federal agency that connects individuals and organizations to address the nation's challenges through service and volunteering.

Volunteer Louisiana, housed in the Office of the Lt. Governor, oversees AmeriCorps state programs, prioritizing and awarding grants to local organizations to meet critical needs.

Apply for Placement

I always got a good feeling about helping people. Even in school, I would tutor my friends to make sure they understood, especially in math… I helped them and it made me feel really good. So I figured this was a really good chance to do good for a lot of people.
