Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train makes an Avoyelles Parish Stop in Simmesport, LA, Dec 3rd, 2025
In a heartwarming celebration of community and holiday spirit, the CPKC (Canadian Pacific Kansas City) Holiday Train will make a special stop in Avoyelles Parish in Simmesport, Louisiana, on December 3rd at the North Live Oak crossing. Next to the Piggly Wiggly.
The CPKC Holiday Train, a cherished tradition running for over two decades in Canada and now the United States, will be lighting up Simmesport with its beautifully decorated railcars and a live stage show. As the train arrives, a stage will unfold, featuring entertainers Dylan Marlowe and Emily Ann Roberts performing music free of charge. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the local food bank, and CPKC will also make a contribution to support the community. This will be the only stop between Baton Rouge and Alexandra.
The CPKC Holiday Train initiative supports local Food Banks in Canada and the US and since its inaugural journey in 1999 has raised more than $26 million and 5.4 million pounds of food for Community Food Banks along the Routes So it's logical that this stop will include a portion of the event to acknowledge the Food Bank of Central Louisiana’s annual Christmas Cheer Food Drive sponsored by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe and coordinated through participating schools in the 5 CENLA Parishes including Avoyelles.
