The Food Bank of Central Louisiana is carefully monitoring developments regarding the community spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are partnering with Feeding America, the network of 200 food banks, and local partners to ensure the safest handling of food and distributions to our community while assessing innovative ways to meet the evolving needs.
The Food Bank is distributing food boxes Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. We are limiting the number of people in the lobby at one time to 10 or less. We ask those we serve to be patient during this time and respect these guidelines.
The Adopt-a-Senior Program distribution dates (for those picking up at 3223 Baldwin Avenue, Alexandria) are Monday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 25 from 7 a.m. – 11:45 a.m and 1 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
The income guidelines for food distribution have not changed. If you are a new applicant, please bring the following information with your application:
Government issued picture ID
Proof of income of everyone in the household (including food stamps)
Proof of address (utility bill, lease, etc).
Verification of the members of your household (government issued pictured ID, social security cards, or birth certificates)
If you are a SNAP recipient, please bring your budget sheet
To those interested in volunteering, we need your help; however, if you are not feeling well, please do not come to volunteer. Please call the Food Bank at 445-2773 to schedule a time to help.
As always, the Food Bank of Central Louisiana is able to continue our work because of the support of this community. We are mobilizing to ensure our most vulnerable neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need during this uncertain time.
