Your Cans Matter…Scouting for Food

November 1, 2018

The Louisiana Purchase Council, Boy Scouts is conducting their 31st annual Scouting for Food Drive. Scouts throughout Central and Northeast Louisiana will collect food through the drive to be provided to the needy citizens of our region.

Food bags will be delivered to residences on Saturday, November 3rd.  Individuals are asked to fill the bags with canned goods only and place them in clear view on their front porches or entry ways by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 10th for pick up. If you do not receive a bag, you may drop off a food donation to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana or make a monetary donation on their website at www.fbcenla.org.

Food will be distributed through the Food Bank of Central Louisiana and other outlying food pantries. Bancroft Bag is the Bag Sponsor again this year.

This year, the Boy Scouts hope to exceed more than 45,000 pounds of food collected through the generous giving of area residents in Central and Northeast Louisiana.

Additional food drive sponsors include Georgia-Pacific Krafted Solutions, Interkraft, Kapstone, Mac’s Fresh Market, McDonald’s, and Sparks Nissan Kia. The Louisiana Purchase Council is a United Way Partner Agency.
