Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive Postponed

The 28th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive, scheduled for May 9, 2020, has been postponed. The National Association of Letter Carriers, as well as their national partners, are fully committed to rescheduling the food drive later in 2020. A new date has not yet been scheduled. The annual success of the food drive is largely due to the efforts of letter carriers, other postal employees, postal customers, community volunteers and many more. Their safety is of paramount importance. Much of the United States is currently under shelter in place or similar advisories due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and public health authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Spring 2020 Food for Thought Newsletter

At the time of this writing, April 1st, our community and our country are experiencing a unique need due to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The Food Bank of Central Louisiana has mobilized to ensure our most vulnerable neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need during this uncertain time. As schools have closed, we know that means thousands of children are without breakfast and lunch. Our seniors are at the highest risk of COVID-19 complications. Hourly workers are worried about paying their bills and buying food as so many of our service industries are closed. Many of our food pantries are not open as they are run by senior volunteers who are most at risk for infec
